Yesterday my Lord challenged me. Rather than just rant about the vanity I sense concerning Facebook that it is predominately used as “mebook” with no real purpose or value. The my Lord hit me, FB is a means to reach out to a soul in need, a soul that is very valuable to our Lord for he was willing to pay the precious price of His blood.
Behind the Facebook Profile
Same principle applies as we walk around we have no idea what is going on in people’s lives behind closed doors, What young man is contemplating suicide? What woman is sad over her situation and going through depression? What marriage is tearing apart? The same with FB, we have no idea of what is really going in people’s lives, unless take time to ask.
You can use Facebook to reach out to someone, beyond the “like” button, with a word of encouragement. The following is what I wrote that God used to get a hold of my heart and the commitment He gave me, by the grace of God to make myself available to a soul in need that I be my Lord’s hands, heart and feet to go and compel them to come into the Father’s love.
BEYOND the LIKE Button
Searching up and down
The FB world,
But nothing could be found.
Yes, a laugh here,
Sad news there.
The like button,
Emoticons everywhere,
Have condensed
Heart-to-heart conversations
For there is no time
For deep relations.
On FB my conscious is eased
For now my friend, a “like” band aid will do,
Till the next time on my newsfeed I see you.

Social media has a definite purpose especially for God’s servants. There is no excuse why you can’t find someone on Facebook to be a blessing to beyond just a “like” button. Do you see their need?
Take time to write someone a heart note, a letter or even a visit. You may be surprised how many folks just “put on a face” on FB but who are longing for the Savior’s touch through you.
I know I was one of them. So glad folks took the time outside of Facebook to be a comfort to me.
Contact Me
My heart’s calling in the Lord is to be a blessing in the lives of women. As a woman if you would like someone to talk to or you need some words of comfort please contact me and by God’s grace I will do my best to comfort you with the comfort I have been comforted with. I may not have all the answers but I know the One who does.
