At the end of 2013 I determined to make 2014 a year of commitment by the grace of God. My desire was to learn more about what it means to be truly committed. I enjoy learning what something is or how it works in order to passionately embrace it. Yet in the baby steps I have taken toward commitment in 2014 the following is quite a profound thought:

“Keeping your promises to others builds trust and strong relationships, and keeping promises to yourself builds character, esteem, and success.”

It simply amazes me how true this statement is. It equally amazes me that we who know profound truths in God’s word would not endeavor to be so committed to our beloved God. This world can desire to reach new heights and seek to better their lives.

How much more we who have been given such a tremendous victory in Christ Jesus and access to all His riches in glory? Do we know His incredible limits?

These are certainly exciting times in my life. I never would have dreamed that God would do so much in such a short amount of time by simply having a desire to be committed. It was simply an outpouring desire, thanks to friends who lovingly gave of themselves which motivated me to live a life of real commitment in 2014.

At the time, early part of 2013, I only knew them as acquaintances on Facebook but since then my Lord has so knit my heart to them. I have been drawn to their ministryAnn Marie Moore says, "The fuel that powers the word commitment is action. And action for the Christian is fueled by His grace." of song.

I have been so blessed to hear others share how the Miller’s music and messages have impacted their lives. It encouraged me to see how Abigail allows the power of God to work in her life as she humbles herself to God’s will through songs.

This brings me to my next point don’t ever underestimate what one word of encouragement, one scripture, even a song will do in the life of another. Perhaps you are a person of a few words but your smile and your understanding face can certainly give someone courage in their time of need.

You never know you may have a part in someone’s life who will impact others for the cause of Christ, all to which our Lord will place on your account.

As you go throughout your day, remember the value of one soul begins with you. Allow God to show you just how precious you are and commit to him your life to use you for His glory.
