On the night my husband, Bruce, proposed to me we agreed on one thing…we were never going to have any children. God in His wisdom changed our minds. So far we have had eleven pregnancies, two were miscarriages and our latest was still born.
We have 8 children living ranging from 19 years old on down. Regardless of the ups and downs we can still rest in our decision we made three years after being married of having children in faith.
The scripture verse we took a look at was “Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” -Psalm 127:3
Despite our own shortcomings as parents our Lord has always been gracious to us and over the years this verse has proven to be true in our lives. Our children do not belong to us, we are simply the ones who have been entrusted to care for them and raise them in the fear and admonition of our Lord.
The following verses are just as special to us: “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Psa 127:5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” -Psalms 127:4,5
All three of these verses have become the Moore family theme song and many times we would sing the verses in churches that we visit when we were presenting our ministry burden.
The following video rings true in our lives as we launch our first arrow, our eldest boy, out, to be led and guided by our loving Heavenly Father. It is true our children grow up so fast.
